According to statistics of the film industry, blue ray disk sale indicate strong growth, and doubling every year. The statement by the entertainment industry that € 445 million have been spent in high-definition disc market.
Naturally, sales of Blu-ray Disc can not be compared with those of the DVD, which despite the decline in sales during 5.8% over last year, total sales to reach € 3.5 billion. Overall, they have sold 342 million DVD, versus 24.7 million in sales of Blu-ray discs.
The entertainment industry is also expecting even greater sales of Blu-ray discs, especially during the Christmas season.
