Havnon unveils first e-reader with E Ink’s color ePaper

Chinese e-reader vendor Hanvon Technology has become the first company to unveil an e-reader featuring the color version of E Ink Holdings’ ePaper, at recently held FPD International 2010 trade show in Tokyo, Japan. Notably Amazon’s kindle is an example of E Ink technology, but it’s not color.

  • A 9.68-inch diagonal color touch screen
  • An 800 MHz Freescale ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 2 GB of NAND flash storage
  • 128 MB of mobile DDR memory


Additional Features:

  • A USB 2.0 port
  • Microsoft’s WinCE 6.0 operating system
  • A MicroSD card slot to extend storage.
  • Wi-Fi and 3G wireless connectivity

Availability: The new Havnon e-reader will likely be launched in China in March 2011; and will be targeted at Business users.

Price: The prices will start at $440.
