Nokia announced on Friday that some models of its new high-end mobile phone N8 released last month, had trouble feeding, causing the device to shut down unexpectedly. Analysts said the successful launch of the N8, the first real competitor to Apple iPhone three years after its release, is considered crucial to the margins of Finnish manufacturer on the current quarter.
Niklas Savander, the marketing director of Nokia, said that “only a limited number of users N8″ encountered the problem of extinction of the device coupled with an inability to turn it on. According to a spokesperson for the world’s largest maker of mobile phones, the problem stems from the production line and has since been repaired. However, Nokia has refused to indicate the number of devices affected by this concern, merely announcing that only models N8 were affected.
“All users may not have informed Nokia of this problem, the total number of defective devices could increase,” said Sami Sarkamies, analyst at Nordea office. The problem of power management follows the way the components have been installed in the Nokia N8.
