Danner boots, the founding company of LaCrosse Footware Inc., has received a large order for their Combat Hiker boot. The boot is designed for combat in mountainous terrain. The Five Million Dollar order came in from the United States Army.
This purpose of the contract is to fill orders for the troops that will be deployed throughout the rest of the year, the company said. They will mainly be used by troops in Afghanistan.
The Army is trying to decide on a uniform mountain combat boot for soldiers. Although this is a large order, it does not mean that the military has decided to go with Danner Boots as their main boot provider.
The president and CEO for LaCrosse Footwear, Inc had this to say about the deal. “We believe this order demonstrates that the United States Army trusts Danner to deliver the best quality footwear for extended wear and high performance in harsh mountain terrain and challenging weather conditions.” “Danner continues to remain focused on combining our deep understanding of what soldiers need in the field with our expertise in innovative product engineering, unique manufacturing capabilities and a passion for our craft.”
