Overclock Nexus S to 1.4GHz

Galaxy Devices using Hummingbird processor have hit speed at 1.6Ghz, and now Nexus S overclocked reaching speed 1.4GHz using Gingerbread Android OS. The new kernel tweaks some voltages from previous overclocking builds, but this new version incorporates functional Bluetooth capabilities. The advancements come courtesy of xda developer forum.

If you insist on using SetCPU, make sure your profiles include 800MHz, Galaxy S and Nexus S alike use 800MHz when entering sleep. That’s not my fault or coolbho3k’s fault, it’s a fact, a design choice. Until now you didn’t know what you did wrong, now you do, stop doing it.

It is a 1.4GHz kernel, some may view 40% as “not much OC”, well, they are wrong, the further we depart from 1.0GHz, the more likely we are to have found the limit of our particular slice of silicon.

  • HZ at 1000
  • BFS
  • Extend Vcore, based on feedback, this may return to 1.3GHz levels.

  • Increased bus speed over stock, (higher than 1.3GHz’s bus speed)
  • HZ at 1000
  • BFS
  • Vcore same as V1.0

Since the kernel runs at a higher voltage, compared to the original kernel, you can expect some battery hit. Also, you can expect increased temperatures from using your overclocked Nexus S smartphone if you are continually using the phone at maximum speed, such as when you play games.
