Sony Ericsson flagship 2010 smartphone, the Xperia X10 has tested its owners to the limit. The fact that it seems to officially stay on Android 2.1 (Eclair) forever, has made some mod their Xperia X10 to try new things.
This version will have no sound output, fixed in the next one! Version with sound gives many bugs. First bugs listing and then i will enable sound. It needs some work done even as camera it takes just some more time.
A developer of Android modding community has managed to run a Sony Ericsson Arc version of Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread on the Xperia X10. The present version is still imperfect, with no sound output or camera, but it sounds like the Dutch hacker has got the WiFi working as well as Bluetooth, Timescape and GPS.
After install it gives 2 or 3 errors, they show only on first boot. When you finished setup then go to apps, and then dev settings and then choose bad behavior, then click on crash system_server. it will reboot once finished network etc works.
