Samsung has introduced its newest mobile Samsung Wave 578. built on its own open operating system Bada.

With the Samsung Wave 578 handset, the company will provide the latest innovation in mobile industry running on BADA platform. The enhanced connectivity, design and social experiences enabled by this handset represent Samsung’s commitment to democratizing the smart phone market and providing users around the world with access to rich experiences and content.

Samsung Wave 578 is the second phone to have the Bada operating system. The Samsung Wave S8500, the first Bada mobile phone, was launched in June 2010, Five million phones running Bada OS have been produced to date and Samsung expects to ship ten million Bada devices by the end of the first half of 2011.

Samsung Wave 578 comes with the Near Field Communication connectivity. Samsung had announced NFC support for its own Bada Smartphone platform in January this year.

Overall the new phone is hailed for NFC, a 3.2 inch WVGA TFT LCD display and dual cameras.
