Bad new for iPad 2 owner who want to jailbreak their device that iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that SHAtter has been patched in iPad 2 by Apple. It has been confirmed non other then MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team that SHAtter is patched in iPad 2. Earlier iPhone Dev Team confirmed that Limera1n would be patched in iPad 2 Bootrom.
At present all current jailbreak tools are using Geohot bootrom based on Limera1n exploit to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the latest firmware. As we know Limera1n exploit exists in iOS devices so hardware revision could only patched it.
For those who don’t know that Limera1n was released in October last year by Geohot and forced the Chronic Dev Team to save their SHAtter exploit for the jailbreak of future iOS devices.
But Apple had patched both Limera1n and SHAtter exploits back in March 2010, long before they were found by Geohot (Limera1n) and Chronic Dev Team (SHAtter).
So some genius like Comex, who do some magic and bring another JailbreakMe like tool to jailbreak iOS 4.3 firmware on the iPad 2.
