Here is another Kinect users play Angry Birds Wii-style by holding a wireless controller in their hand. Check out KinEmote running on Windows 7 computer. which is software used to control PCs with Kinect, Angry Birds can now be played using motion controls. This particular hack uses a wireless controller in the same hand that the Kinect tracks. The wireless controller is used for simple button selections, where the hand is tracked for mouseover purposes. The hack works pretty flawlessly, enabling you to get your Angry Birds fix on your flat screen.
It uses a controller, so it’s not quite the fully immersible experience one can imagine being developed for the Kinect system, but it’s a start. And Kinect hacking is still in its infancy, as is KinEmote. It’s easy to envision a version in the near future that would let you manually pull back your birds to send them at those evil, smug pigs. That certainly sounds gratifying.
