While current Android handsets and Windows Mobile phones of yore boast of their prowess, by proclaiming the heftiness of their internal RAM, Apple has been silent on the internal memory included within the various generations of the iPhone. Both the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G shipped with a meager 128MB RAM while the 3GS doubled that capacity with a respectable 256MB. The iPhone 4 was presumed to share the same 256MB capacity. a teardown analysis of a leaked prototype uncovered a 256MB DRAM from Samsung.

Apple has unveiled its new iPhone 4 after a couple wild, unprecedented months of leaks. Sure, it looks exactly like we expected it to (Steve compares it to an old Leica camera), with a glass front and back, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts, kids. The stainless steel band that goes around the phone is an antenna system, while also providing the main structure of the phone, though it’s plugged into the same old GSM / UMTS radio you all know and love — there’s a reason they didn’t call it the iPhone 4 (iOS4). There’s also of course that front facing camera we were all anticipating, a rear camera with LED flash, and a new high resolution display that doubles the pixels in each direction (960 x 640) for a 4X overall pixel count increase — Apple calls it a “Retina Display.” It’s rated at 326ppi, which Apple claims is beyond the human eye’s limit of distinction

If your dying for root access on your Evo 4G but just can’t figure out how ADB works, or custom recoveries confuse you – fear not, my friends. “Unrevoked” might just be for you. It’s a very simple one-click root method which allows you to run root-required apps, and even gives you Super-user protection. All you do is copy the “unrevoked.apk” file onto your SD card and install it using Astro, or some other file manager. Easy enough, right? The only problem is that you have run the app after every reboot, as it’s not permanent. And it also doesn’t give you a custom recovery, so you can’t flash ROMs – but if you’re just looking to run some “root apps”, then this is definitely your cup of tea! After the break are a couple screenshots, and thanks everyone who sent this in!
